NYFW: S/S 2012

DKNY
Ready-to-Wear

This collection I consider to be a reinvention of what a contemporary NYC working woman's closet would look like, strutting down the runway flawlessly, and in the background nothing more "NY" than the yellow taxi-cab.
Some notes on what we can see in this collection:
-Big sun hats
-Blazers with combined skinny pants, dresses with trains(high and low cuts), amazing blouses (simplicity and elevated design), loose shorts, metallic skirts, jackets, long dresses, large purses, amazing shoes(with an emphasis on wedges).
-Colors: white, navy, black, red, royal blue, shades of pink, a lot of fuchsia.
-Prints: bright floral prints, red and blue stripes and modern prints.
-Makeup: Natural
-Hair: long luscious, straight, waves, and every look with a sun hat.

.The Lying Game+Pretty Little Liars.

This is my fav. outfit! The sequined shirt and crochet shorts, seen above.

.The Most Chic Print: Leopard, A Definite MUST.

Animal prints seem to never go out of style. Leopard dots have been the most seen prints on the catwalks from total looks, from clutches, mini dresses, skirts, pants, blouses, footwear, scarves, etc.

The key to wearing this print without looking over the top "fug" (vocab from the one and only Mr. Jay Manuel), is simply to not over do it, in one ensemble. If it is properly worn and paired, leopard print can add style and an unique touch to any look. You can either choose a more simple style using one leopard print clothing piece or accessory, and remember that this print works great with black and leather; on the other hand you can go for a head-to-toe look. For the outfit to work, try to stay away from an excess use of accessories, like bracelets, necklaces or rings, if you opt for a total leopard print look.

We are definitely crushing hard on the bold cat print. It can be paired perfectly with other prints, but we should not underestimate how fiercely fabulous it is on its own. This print is for sure a main trend!
